John Trial – This is my 1967 Oldsmobile 442 called Rockets Revenge. The car was debuted this March at Detroit Autorama and was a Ridler Contender. It was a great honor to be chosen for a Ridler and although it didn’t make the Great 8, the car won First Place Custom Convertible. The car also received a Builders Choice Award at the Good Guys East Coast Nationals and is going to be featured on an upcoming episode of ” My Classic Car” and a new Show called “Joy Rides”. The 442 is powered by a fuel injected Oldsmobile 462 rocket motor, 4 speed transmission and A 12 Bolt Posi. Four wheel disc brakes, close ratio steering and a 3″ drop all around. The car is painted in Spies Hecker HiTech water bourne Dark Saphire Blue and Silverlake Blue separated by 3tone stripe. Custom touches include an Oldsmobile 3rd brake light and frenched door handles. The interior is all wrapped in two tone blue ultra leather with custom stitching and features push button start, air conditioning, power windows power locks, power trunk and an 1100 watt stereo all hidden away so it doesn’t take away from the almost original appearance that the car portrays.
